Problem 1.130

A body of mass \(m\) is hauled from the Earth's surface by applying a force \(\mathbf{F}\) varying with the height of ascent \(y\) as \(\mathbf{F}=2\) (ay - -1) mg, where \(a\) is a positive constant. Find the work performed by this force and the increment of the body's potential energy in the gravitational field of the Earth over the first half of the ascent.

Reveal Answer
 1.130. A=3mg/4a,ΔU==mg/2a\begin{aligned} & \text { 1.130. } A=3 m g / 4 a, \quad \Delta U=\\ =& m g / 2 a \end{aligned}
